Also adding water to you water feature continuously does not resolve the problem and is only a band aid fix. It’s also not healthy to your aquatic life continuing to add water whether its from the tap or a well. It also throws any established balance you once had completely off. Water treatments become diluted and over time ineffective.

While water features are a beautiful addition and investment to anyone's business or home. It's critical to perform proper maintenance and upkeep to protect your investment. We suggest in the late fall being proactive and having a fall shut down-winterization service completed on your water feature. This helps ensure the possibility of freeze damage to your pond's existing components and or plumbing in place between the skimmer location and waterfall filter box. Failure to take these simple steps can be costly in the long run. We have always advised our clients it's far more reasonable to perform the winter service than to have costly repair and replacement bills that could have potentially been avoided.

Example of the steps we have taken in replacing a 3" plumbing line that incurred freeze damage over a hard winter season. Unfortunately, the customer declined to perform the winterization service. As they wanted to leave their water feature running over the winter months. As beautiful as the scenery can be, experiencing a power outage in the middle of winter even for a short period of time can still damage your water feature. Keep in mind water freezes and expands which can be catastrophic pvc components and plumbing.
